The L4 Factor, Issue #003 -- Increase Your Happiness
November 02, 2013

Love, Life, Light, and Laughter = 100% Happiness

Welcome to "The L4 Factor"...the e-Zine that let's you know what you are doing right as you head towards full time happiness, and how to make it even righter!!

This month, it is important to know that a key ingredient of happiness is "Gratitude."

I teach children at a private academy in Las Vegas.

We have a Thanksgiving play coming up on November 21st.

It is the story of the pilgrims and what brought them to America in the first place.

At the opening of the play, the Kinder-Prep class children (the 4 year olds) get up on the stage and sing a little diddy called "I Am Thankful For My..."

Here are the lyrics:

I am thankful for my eyes.

I am thankful for my nose.

I am thankful for my arms and legs.

I am thankful for my toes.

I am thankful for my ears,

For my head and shoulders, too.

I am thankful for my knees and neck,

But I'm thankful most for YOU!!

(When they say "YOU," they point to their parents in the audience...or to whomever they are thankful for. When we rehearse it during class, they ususally point to me...which makes me feel excellent.)

Later on in the play, the older children sing a song called "We Are Ever Grateful."

It lists other things that are important in our lives that we should be grateful for...

"Laughter, Living, Sorrow,

Fireflies, Puppies, Rain,

Music, Wisdom, Spirit,

And We are Ever Grateful."

Every year, as we are learning the song, there is at least one new student who asks why we are thankful for "sorrow." I get to explain to them that if we didn't have sorrow, we wouldn't be as appreciative of the happiness that we feel when we feel it.

There is a difference between feeling happy constantly and feeling 100% happiness in your core.

If we felt a constant happiness in our lives, it would get comfortable, we would get used to it, and eventually, it wouldn't mean as much to us as it should.

Sorrow is important!

It helps us realize how precious happiness is.

When it comes to feeling happiness in and to your core; even when you are going through hard times and sadness is invading your life, you can still know that you are happy to the core. You can be 100% happy!

For more on how to be happy even when you're not happy, read my web page called are you naive?

Going back to the original thought...

Happiness can be achieved through gratitude!

When you show gratitude, you are helping others understand that their actions are making a difference in other people's lives.

MOST people want, need, and crave that. They want to know that their life has meaning and purpose.

When you show gratitude for something someone has done for you, you help them realize that they are important. That, then, comes back to you in the form of good feelings and personal joy!

What about things you have that others didn't give to you...i.e., I am thankful for my eyes, I am thankful for my nose...etc., etc., etc.

Be thankful to God, the world, the universe, (whatever your beliefs are), and it still comes back to you in the form of happiness and contentment and peace.

I am thankful to you, my readers, for your continued desire to be Happy to the Max!!

See you next month!!

I love you ALL!!
