Love, Life, Light, and Laughter = 100% Happiness

Welcome to "The L4 Factor"...the e-Zine that let's you know what you are doing right as you head towards full time happiness, and how to make it even righter!!

MAY You Be Forever Happy!!

Question: If April showers bring May flowers, what do May flowers bring? Answer: Pilgrims!!

I know, I know...it's an old joke from when we were 7 years old, but "it's May, it's May, the lusty month of May" (a song from the musical "Camelot")

There's something about May...green grass and trees, flowers starting to bloom, a rebirth. And these things bring about a hope for happiness.

So how do we capitalize on that and ACTUALLY be happy?

Here are a few things you can do to make the most of May!!

Be Charitable!!

Charities range from the United Way down to your next door neighbor. There are many ways you can show you care (which will enhance your happiness quotient). Donate things you don't need anymore ("one man's trash is another man's treasure"), donate money, donate time...

I know that for each "donate" that I just mentioned, you pictured yourself doing those things...you maybe even knew who or what you would be helping. May is that month to do it!

Don't Just Exist...DO!!!

Are you stuck in a rut?

You know the routine: get up, get ready, eat, go to work, come home, vegetate, go to bed...lather, rinse, repeat...

Living for the weekend is not enough, especially when the world is renewing. You need to renew yourself. ~ Go for a hike ~ ~ Go to the opera ~ ~ Go play a sport ~ ~ Get out of the house ~ ~ Hang out with friends or play by yourself (either way, do something) ~ ~ Start, or re-engage yourself in, a hobby ~ ~ Have a picnic ~ ~ Fall in love (if you're already in love, fall in love all over again) ~ ~ Go extreme if you must (parachute/paraglide, bungee jump, ride a dangerous roller coaster, etc.) ~

Get Some Enlightenment!

Part of "renewing" is sharpening your learning skills and heightening your relationship with the world around you!!

When I was a boy scout, my Scoutmaster and our trip went on a trip to the Uintah mountains in Northern Utah. We had a couple of packhorses and all our gear. Something spooked the horses and they scattered...they scattered out provisions all of the mountainside (most of which we never recovered)...so we had to live off of our wits for a week.

It was one of the best weeks of my life...sure, it was difficult having to catch, gut, and eat fish constantly (luckily, our Scoutmaster was GREAT at cooking stuff like that), sure, it was hard having to go without some of the camping accessories that you usually count on, and sure, it was not easy having to learn some basic survival skills at such a young age...but communing with nature, getting closer to the land/sky/heavens, and sharpening our social, physical, mental, and spiritual skills made it all worth it.

Try it sometime...just go out and survive! Challenge yourself! It's AWESOME!!

Guffaw, Snicker, Titter, Giggle, and Hoot!

Chuckling heals!!

With a rebirth, with a looking forward, with the new hope for the future that comes with the month of May, there's a kind of giddiness that takes over!

Notice things!!! Let me say that again..."NOTICE THINGS"

I was at the gym yesterday and where I was sitting, doing some gluteus maximus exercises, I could see the basketball court. At one point the men were at one end of the court just as one of the female patrons (one of the more in shape female patrons) was walking by the opening of the basketball court.

The men (without trying to be too obvious) started gawking at the girl. The basketball game came to an abrupt stop for about 5 seconds - complete with ball going out of bounds, men looking around after a moment to see what was going on, and all of the men acting like nothing had happened. The girl knew what she was doing because the smirk on her face was priceless!

I laughed out loud at first while in the middle of a "Buns of Steel" set of crunches...and then I kept laughing inside and smiling the rest of the evening. I thought it was VERY funny!

I don't think anyone else noticed that whole sequence of events as they unfolded, but to me, it was like watching a movie! A comedy!!

Later on while I was in the jacuzzi, I saw that same girl come out of the sauna and I started laughing all over again!!

Notice things!! You may be the only one, but don't let that stop you!!

The Lusty Month of May

It doesn't have to be a "lusty" month of May...but you should do your darndest to make it a rebirth/renewal/reaffirmation of your BEING (physical/mental/spiritual/physiological)!
