5 Reasons You'll Never Succeed at Happiness

5 Reasons You'll Never Succeed at Happiness

The pursuit of happiness is a lifelong goal and not many people are successful at reaching it. Instead of letting you know what you should do to become happy, let me tell you the top 5 reasons why you are NOT happy.

1- You’re Selfish

All you ever think about is yourself. While it is important to love yourself, it is also important to think of, and serve others. That is where the true happiness lies. The major cause of unhappiness in the world is selfishness. People who want power, or fame, or money, or “things,” without wanting to help others may think that these things will bring them happiness, but in the end, they are miserable.

2- You’re Lazy
Many marriages and relationships have gone down the drain because of laziness. Many people are lethargic because of laziness…in fact, it’s a double-edged sword…the more lethargic you are the more lazy you become, and the more lazy you are the more lethargic you become. If you are sitting on the couch and playing video games or watching television day in and day out, you will never be happy. It’s alright to play/watch a little, but it’s more important (from a happiness point of view) to go out, be active, mingle with your fellow human beings and/or experience the wonder and beauty of our mother earth.

3- You’re Dumb
This is not referring to whether or not you can read and/or write. It is more of a reference to your willingness to learn to read or write. You can be very smart without reading or writing. There are people in the world who cannot read or write, often because they were not given the opportunity, yet they are very smart because they went out into the world and learned from experiences. If you aren’t willing to learn things, and enrich your life, there’s no chance for happiness for you.

4- You’re Worldly
Pornography, drugs, alcohol provide immediate short-ranged pleasure for some people, but, in the end, these things have ruined people’s lives and stolen away any possibility for happiness. The good news is you can turn yourself around, get rid of these vices, and be happy.

5- You’re Moody
How many times have you been in a movie theater, or grocery store check-out line, or at a _______________________ (you fill in the blank) and the people behind you are complaining incessantly about this or that or the other thing in their life. Is this you? Quit being such a drama person and think about the good things that have happened in your life. If you MUST dwell on the horrible things, at least laugh about them. Nobody wants to hang around someone who is moody. Laugh, and you’ll be happy…and popular.

That’s it…now you know why you’ll never succeed at happiness!

Turn it around…be happy…you can do it!!
